Solid maple
The residence is built in maple, chosen for its strength, fine grain, and the way it carries light. Solid maple gives the frame its strength, holding the residence square and true. Broad surfaces are maple panels, which stay flat and stable where a single wide board would cup. And the arched roof is bent laminated maple, thin layers set to a curve, so the arch holds its line through dry winters and humid summers as solid wood never could. Every piece is chosen and finished by hand at the Atelier.
Solid brass
The latches, hardware, and details are solid polished brass, designed by the founder and made for the PupHut residence alone. Solid brass, not plated. The metal you touch is the metal all the way through, so there’s nothing to wear thin or flake off. It just ages, the way real brass always has, softening and deepening wherever your dog meets it directly. Hardware is engineered to stay put. Concealed mounts, flush fittings, and locking geometry mean nothing is designed to work loose in normal use. Concealed where it should be, celebrated where it deserves to be.
Recycled acrylic
The door windows and The Landing, the residence’s floor tray, are recycled cast acrylic, clear and tough, and given a second life rather than made new. It carries light and keeps a sightline to the dog inside, and unlike glass it stays light to move and holds up to a life lived against it, with no risk of a sharp break.
Nothing from another animal
No material in a PupHut residence comes from an animal. It is vegan throughout, with no leather, wool, silk, or down, anywhere.

Every material is chosen with your dog’s wellbeing in mind, from zero- and low-VOC finishes and vegan textiles to surfaces meant to be cleaned and lived with easily.
Air & light
Every PupHut residence breathes by design. Arched windows on both side walls bring air and light in at your dog’s height, from five slim openings on the smaller residences up to seven on the largest, each proportioned to the wall it lives in, with a low louvre beneath them. A low louvre sits at the foot of each door, and the back wall carries a full louvre field, top, sides, and bottom, so air enters low and leaves high rather than sitting in the residence. Warm air rises and drifts out through the louvres set high in the back wall’s own curve, so the residence breathes on its own. No fans, no hum, just architecture.
Built to be lived with
