The Finishes
A PupHut residence is made of maple, solid brass and recycled cast acrylic, with gallery walls inside on Heirloom. Nothing is disguised as something else, and nothing is finished to be forgotten. This page is about the choices you make among them, the colour your residence wears, the finish it carries, and the details it will hold onto for years.

Inside, the wood is natural maple, sealed clear and never painted, on every path. We keep it natural for a reason beyond beauty.
Sealed maple wears quietly, letting the ordinary marks of a life lived indoors settle into the grain rather than stand out against paint. On Heirloom, the gallery walls hang inside over the back and side walls.
They hang on small brass hooks, cut so every window and louvre stays open. The frames around them, the floor and the curved ceiling stay natural maple.
The colour, then, is the exterior’s to wear. A Signature residence may be painted, or left as the maple itself, clear-sealed.
Heirloom keeps both and widens the palette. Whatever the path, the wood inside is never painted.
The palette
The palette is deliberately small, ten colours composed for maple and offered by Path. Signature carries four, First Snow, a warm white, Home Again, a warm greige, Old Friend, a warm taupe, and Sun Patch, natural maple sealed clear. Heirloom adds six, Rainy Day, soft grey, Fireside, deep warm brown, Moonlit Trail, deep navy, Hide and Seek, deep forest green, Found You, deep wine, and Goodnight Kiss, near-black. Heirloom also offers Atelier Colour, your own colour, brought to us on a paint colour card or a small painted sample. Bespoke includes the full palette and Atelier Colour, and can go further still, a colour created for you from a fabric, an object, or a photograph.
We name the colours rather than printing swatches here. Paint on maple is its own thing, and it deserves to be seen truly, not approximated on a screen. Choose the colour slowly. The residence will wear it for a long time.
What the finish is made of
Finishes are chosen for the one who sleeps inside, zero to low-VOC and selected as carefully as anything else in the home. What a dog lives against for years deserves nothing less. Every finish is applied at the Atelier.
A painted exterior is primer and paint, with no clear coat over the colour. A natural maple exterior takes a clear satin sealer, and every interior a clear matte sealer.
No residence leaves the Atelier with less than another, and the figures are on Specifications.
The brass
The brass is left bare. No lacquer, no coating, ever.
It is a living finish, and it deepens where hands and paws know it best. The crest and the nameplate, and on Heirloom the Hallmark Plaque and, where there are doors, the door grilles, are made to lift off by hand, so the wood around them can be cleaned.
The acrylic
The clear panels, the door windows and, if you choose one, the Landing, the tray that protects the floor, are recycled cast acrylic. The pieces most exposed to daily life are the easiest to renew. They are designed to lift out by hand, with no tools, because the fit is geometry rather than hardware.
