Our Story
I believe a dog’s place in the home deserves the same care as the furniture around it.
It began with three dogs
Tucker, Paisley and Maya were the reason I started looking. I wanted a comfortable place for each of them that I would love having in my home.
I couldn’t find what I had in mind. So I began designing it.
The arch
The arch came first. It became PupHut’s signature shape, with a roof built in layers to form the curve.
Getting the arch right, bent from layers of maple, took countless drawings and attempts in the workshop. It is the line every PupHut residence is built around.

A background in woodwork
Before PupHut, I served as National Executive Director of the Architectural Woodwork Manufacturers Association of Canada. That background shapes how I think about materials and how the residence is put together.
The Atelier today
The PupHut Atelier is a woman-owned Canadian studio, founded in Edmonton in 2023.
A Canadian woodwork shop makes the wooden parts, and we seal, finish and assemble each residence at the Atelier in Canada. The brass is made to our own drawings by a specialist brass workshop outside Canada.
Every commission is for one Resident, the dog it is made for. Meet the Atelier.
What comes next
We are preparing the first commissions, which will open in a small release. The Atelier List hears first when they are ready.
