Sizes by Breed

Find your dog’s breed to see the size it usually lands in. Then measure, because the tape decides.

01

Size 1 — Petite

For dogs up to 15 inches from the tip of the nose to the base of the tail. Inside floor 21.42 × 15.25 in. First release.

02

Size 2 — Small

For dogs over 15 to 19 inches from the tip of the nose to the base of the tail. Inside floor 25.42 × 18.25 in. First release.

03

Size 3 — Demi

For dogs over 19 to 23 inches from the tip of the nose to the base of the tail. Inside floor 29.42 × 21.25 in. First release.

Corgis and Standard Dachshunds sit at the top of this size. Long, low dogs are sized by their length, not their weight, so measure twice.

04

Size 4 — Medium

For dogs over 23 to 27 inches from the tip of the nose to the base of the tail. Inside floor 33.42 × 23.75 in. First release.

A Basset Hound belongs here by its length, even though its weight would suggest a larger size.

05

Size 5 — Midi

For dogs over 27 to 30 inches from the tip of the nose to the base of the tail. Inside floor 36.42 × 26.25 in. First release.

Beyond Size 8 — Estate

Above 42 inches from the tip of the nose to the base of the tail, the residence is a Bespoke commission, whatever the breed. Great Dane, Mastiff, Great Pyrenees and Leonberger usually pass that mark. The Cane Corso usually stands taller than Size 8 — Estate takes, and the St Bernard and the Newfoundland are Bespoke commissions whatever their length, because of their weight.
