The Landing
Under every Dream Bed, and out to the doorstep, lies The Landing, a clear tray cut to the floor of its residence, that takes the daily life of paws and meals and weather so the maple never has to.
The body is a single piece of water-clear recycled cast acrylic. At the front, its tongue reaches out between the doors and is bevelled to a clean, low ramp. Never a step, and never an edge a paw could catch.
The arch at the entry
Where a dog steps in and out every day, The Landing carries a removable arch. Every tray has one; you choose what it is made of. Satin white is the standard, a soft, quiet look that forgives fine scratches. Solid brass is the premium choice, engraved with your dog's Resident Number and left unlacquered, like every brass the Atelier makes. A clear arch is available for those who want the tray to disappear entirely.
Made to be renewed
The arch lifts out with a fingertip, no tools, and drops back in. If years of welcome ever wear it, you refresh the arch, not the whole tray; and on brass, the engraved number simply travels to its replacement. The entry is the hardest-working surface in the residence, so it is the one designed to be effortless to renew.
Held by design
Nothing fastens The Landing down. It is set in during final assembly the way a shelf is set into a fine cabinet, and the Dream Bed's own weight keeps it steady, geometry doing the work of hardware, with nothing drilled into the floor.
On every path
The Landing is made for every residence, in every size. On Heirloom and Bespoke commissions it is part of the residence as it arrives; with a Signature commission, it is available. When a deep clean of the maple beneath is wanted, the tray lifts out, easily at home in the smaller sizes, and with the Atelier's help at the largest, where the panels are big and heavy and deserve two more hands.
The first thing a paw touches, coming home, was designed for exactly that.
The Landing lives beneath the Dream Bed, and both are made of the materials described on Finishes and Materials.
