The Dream Bed

The first night, and every night after.

A few nights in, there is a moment when your Resident stops circling and lies down without a second thought. The doors are open, the room is quiet, and the bed is where it always is. The Dream Bed was made for that moment, and for the ordinary evenings that follow it.

Inside every residence is a bed that was never an afterthought. The Dream Bed is a purpose-built bed system designed for the interior of a PupHut residence, its proportions considered alongside the arch, the doors, and the interior floor, so it sits beautifully with the doors open or closed.

The Entry Arch

Look at the front edge of the bed and you will find the same line as the doorway, a shallow arch shaped into the bed itself. We call it the Entry Arch, and it is there for the dog. The arch leaves a clear landing just inside the doors, so coming home is two easy movements, a step into the residence then up onto the bed, never one high climb over a wall of cushion. Puppies manage it early, and older dogs go on managing it with dignity.

It is also why the residence looks composed when the doors are closed. The arch holds the bed clear of the doors and lets it be seen through the windows, one more curve in a little house built of them. No generic bed does this, because no generic bed was drawn for this room.

The layers

The CloudCore™

At the heart of the bed is the CloudCore™, the supportive core that gives the Dream Bed its shape and height. It is built from graded layers of latex, a natural material chosen because it returns to shape, sleep after sleep, carrying real support without ever feeling hard. Nothing in the core is glued. The layers are cut and stacked, never bonded, so any one of them can be renewed on its own. The layers are always softest at the surface, the core carries the Entry Arch at its front edge, and every core is sized specifically for its PupHut interior, never borrowed from a chart of generic beds. In the largest residences, a base layer of flax, a plant fibre with the same honest character, grounds the stack.

The Cloud Wrap™

Around the core, the Cloud Wrap™ carries the comfort, soft washable cotton, quilted over a fine layer of the same flax, so the layer your dog actually sleeps against is also the one that is easiest to keep fresh. Its quilting is drawn from the same arch that shapes everything else the Atelier makes. It is the reason the bed feels finished under the hand rather than simply stuffed.

The Tailored Cover™

Over everything sits the Tailored Cover™, the visible layer, cut to fit the way upholstery fits and quiet enough to belong in the room it lives in. It closes with a brass zipper pull from the same family as the Resident's Key, an arch engraved on its face and, on the back, your dog's Resident Number.

The Protective Liner™, optional

For puppies, senior dogs, and travel, an optional Protective Liner™ adds a removable, water-resistant layer of accident protection, without ever making the bed feel clinical.

Layered, in short, for comfort, for care, and for long-term refreshability, because the parts that live hardest can be renewed on their own, so the bed ages the way the residence does, serviced rather than discarded.

Three builds, one bed

Every size is offered in three builds, Balanced, Soft and Firm, in the same tailored envelope, under the same cover, wearing the same Entry Arch. You choose fit, not tier.

Balanced

The standard build, and where most dogs rest well. Every commission begins here.

Soft

The plush build, for lighter dogs and for the devoted curlers and nesters.

Firm

The support build, for senior dogs and larger, heavier breeds, a grounded foundation that holds its shape under real weight.

Whichever the build, the surface your dog sleeps on is always the softest layer; firmness lives underneath, where support belongs. The build is chosen when you commission, and changing it changes nothing else about the bed.

Which build suits your dog?

Three small questions. The Atelier confirms the fit with you before anything is made.

The materials

The materials are vegan throughout, like everything the Atelier makes. Latex, flax, and cotton are the working materials of the bed, all of them natural, and they are being finished the slow way, each one tested in the Atelier's hands, then documented, before it earns its final place here.

Sized to the residence

A Dream Bed is made for its residence, Petite through Grand, each proportioned to its own interior, its own doorway, its own view out. When a residence is commissioned, its bed is simply part of it.

Most of a residence's hours are sleeping hours. They deserved this much thought.

The Dream Bed rests on The Landing, the clear tray that protects the maple floor beneath it.

The last thing to arrive, and the first place they go.
